Meet Aj, a homeschooled dancer, musician, and a talented fellow writer for the SLAH!! Aj discovered his passion for fashion when he was 13, when he gathered a sense of awareness and started developing his own style. Both his personality and spectacular tastes bring color and rhythm to any setting.
"A lot of people think that guys only have a simple taste, but I actually focus and I know what goes with what,/what looks good."
Aj isn't your typical teenage guy off the street. This guy has obviously thought hard about what is most important to him in life, and he is not afraid to share something that may not necessarily be "life changing", but is something he cares about and enjoys putting a bit of time and effort into.
"The definition of fashion to me, is self image, focused on outward appearance. It's expressing yourself through what you wear, having a sense of uniqueness. It's having your own style. If I don't exactly look perfect, then I try to make up for it. It's all we can really do. "
"We are created in God's image, so we look the way we are supposed to. So it's okay if we are imperfect, because we live in a FAULTY WORLD. "
I honestly couldn't have said it better. I asked Aj if he had any parting words of advice, and I hope these last few words encourage you as much as they encouraged me that day. :)
"Find your sense of style from within, be unique, and glorify God through everything."
Please go check out his own music column "Engaged Melody"! Thanks AJ!
